Restylane- is most commonly used for lip enhancement (volume and contouring). It is used to diminish wrinkles and aging lines of the face such as the nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines), melomental folds (sad mouth corners), "crow's feet" and forehead wrinkles (frown lines). It may also be used for filling aging-related facial hollows and "orbital troughs" (under and around the eyes), as well as for cheek volume and contouring of the chin, forehead and nose.
Juvederm- an injectable facial filler, is used by cosmetic, dermatological, and plastic surgeons to soften deep folds and reduce wrinkles in the faces of patients.
The eyedrops reduce pressure inside the eye. The eyelash solution helps eyelashes grow.
Facial rejuvenation is a cosmetic treatment (or series of cosmetic treatments), which aims to restore a youthful appearance to the human face. Facial rejuvenation can be achieved through either surgical and/or non-surgical options. Procedures can vary in invasiveness and depth of treatment. Surgical procedures can restore...nomomomomomo facial symmetry through targeted procedures and facial restructuring and skin alterations. Non-surgical procedures can target specific depths of facial structures and treat localized facial concerns such as wrinkles, skin laxity, hyperpigmentation and scars.
Surgical (invasive) facial rejuvenation procedures can include a brow lift (forehead lift), eye lift (blepharoplasty), facelift (rhytidectomy), chin lift and neck lift. Non-surgical (non-invasive) facial rejuvenation treatments can include chemical peels, neuromodulator (such as botox), dermal fillers, laser resurfacing, photorejuvenation, radiofrequency and Ultrasound.
Lasers treat vascular anomalies by emitting a wavelength that is preferentially absorbed by hemoglobin (the red portion of blood) in the targeted vessels. The laser causes the vein to collapse and eventually be absorbed by the body. Advantages include the speed and noninvasive nature of treatment, as well as the size and depth of vessels that can be treated. The exact cause of these smaller, more superficial veins are not yet known; however, heredity is a speculated component. Other possible factors may include hormonal changes associated with puberty, pregnancy, and menopause; constrictive clothing; use of birth control pills; and excessive sun exposure.
Laser Hair Removal
Getting rid of unwanted facial and body hair has been a dream for women and men for centuries. With the advanced Laser hair removal technology that has become available to us in recent years, this dream has become an actuality. Hair removal lasers have been in use for the past 10-15 years and have been FDA approved since 1997 for “permanent hair reduction.” Laser hair removal is a long-term, stable reduction of re-growing hair after an average of 6-8 sessions. The number of treatments required depends on various factors, such as hair color, coarseness of hair and hormonal problems. The coarser and darker the hair, the sooner it will go away, but keep in mind since Laser hair removal is not 100% permanent, you will need to do touch up or maintenance treatments every few months or every year.
There are different kinds of Laser hair removal machines out there, but at New Look Skin Center each treatment is performed with the one of the most effective and top of the line lasers on the market, the Candela GentleMax/Pro. What makes the GentleMax/Pro so amazing and different from other laser machines, is that it can treat almost all skin types, is fast, effective and is less painful thanks to its integrated cooling system.
Vascular and Pigmentation
Procedure - Vascular Laser Treatment
All make-up or skin products should be removed prior to the treatment. As with all laser procedures the patient will don protective eyewear before the procedure begins. The Vbeam laser produces two sensations at the same time, a “snapping rubber band” sensation and “cool wet spray” sensation. No anesthesia is required and the procedure only takes 15 minutes. Some patients, especially patients with rosacea, will experience a mild sunburn sensation but this is temporary. The average number of treatments needed to achieve optimal results is one to three sessions. Most patients, depending on their medical history, will be advised to avoid aspirin, motrin and ibuprofen products for one week prior to the procedure.
Recovery - Vascular Laser Treatment
Recovery after the Vbeam laser treatment all depends on the condition being treated and what settings the provider uses to treat that condition. Our laser nurse can provide an individualized recovery plan at your free consultation depending on your lifestyle and your condition. Some patients with rosacea can be treated with minimal recovery. Other patients will be advised that there will be bruising for one week. Make-up can be applied after this laser treatment. Patients will also be advised to avoid sun exposure during the recovery period.
The Candela ATV laser is designed to treat superficial brown blemishes and is also effective in removing other brown marks like café au lait patches, Nevus of Ito, Nevus of Ota, freckles and flat pigmented moles. A few kinds of pigmentation (in particular melasma) do not improve in response to any form of laser treatment.
Melanin is what gives our skin its color. Pigmented lesions are dark in color simply because melanin is abnormally concentrated in one area of the skin. High concentrations of melanin can be due to various factors. Some types are present at birth, but most occur with age or as a result of overexposure to the sun’s damaging rays.
Pure Balance offers treatment for acne with Smooth Beam by Candela to help maintain clear and healthy looking skin. The condition of acne involves the increased production of sebum by the sebaceous glands as a result of increased hormonal activity. Treatment for acne is either topical or systemic and may consist of benzyl peroxide, retinoid, salicylic acid, antibiotics, hormone treatments, and isotretinoin. Many of these treatments have a temporary effect on the surface of the skin, but do not yield long term clearance. Additionally, there are drawbacks to some of these treatments, such as frustrating side effects and a demanding treatment regimen. The Smooth beam has the ability to target the root cause of acne, and to cause a thermal injury to the sebaceous gland. The epidermis is cooled and protected at the time of treatment using cryogen spray. Few treatments are needed and side effects are minimal.
Vitamin B-12 Injection
Cyanocobalamin is a man-made form of vitamin B12 used to treat low levels (deficiency) of this vitamin. Vitamin B12 helps your body use fat and carbohydrates for energy and make new protein. It is also important for normal blood, cells, and nerves. Most people get enough vitamin B12 in their diet, but a deficiency may occur in certain health conditions (e.g., poor nutrition, stomach/intestinal problems, infection, cancer). Serious vitamin B12 deficiency may result in anemia, stomach problems, and nerve damage.
